About the role

  • Lead Sales activities resulting in meeting or exceeding annual targets in the territory.
  • Build rapport and solid relationships with new and existing IVD clients to ensure are their partner of choice for additional services or projects.
  • Develop in-depth knowledge of assigned IVD marketplace and MDC’s service offerings to identify profitable opportunities.
  • Develop business development plans aligned with the MDC strategy.
  • Foster new client leads and strategic partnerships to generate new business.
  • Assist in preparing documentation for requests for proposals (RFPs).
  • Attend conferences, meetings, and industry events to meet new and existing clients.
  • Work with Business Operations and Service teams to develop proposals and deliver them to prospective client.
  • Develop evidence-backed sales forecasts.
  • Deliver new business through an effective strategic sales process.
  • Ensure records in the company’s CRM are kept current at all times.
  • Perform other duties as company expands and the needs of the organization change.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; biology, chemistry, clinical or science related discipline preferred. Master’s degree or higher in science related discipline and/or MBA preferred.
  • 5+ years’ IVD experience in consulting services and/or IVD manufacturer commercial role(s).
  • Experience in sales, business development, product management, and/or strategic marketing, preferably within IVD.
  • Preferred: Proven experience commercializing in vitro diagnostics products or services.
  • Must be a team player with the ability to engage and influence cross-functional team members.
  • Ability to interpret request for proposals and assist with proposal development for assigned clients.
  • Understanding of pricing models and strategies, including gross margins.
  • Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment, monitor and communicate new trends in the medical in vitro diagnostic industry.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines while working independently.
  • Ability to flourish with minimal guidance, be proactive, and handle uncertainty.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, presentations skills, and project management capabilities.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Outlook, Teams, Word, Powerpoint, Excel), Smartsheet, Google Meetup and Zoom.
  • Strong experience utilizing CRM systems.
  • Preferred: Understanding of IVD product development and stage-gate process, familiarity with U.S. FDA, IVDR, UKCA and/or Health Canada IVD guidelines, clinical trial management, and experience using quality management systems.
