About the role
- Lead, mentor, and inspire a high-performing team of workplace relations consultants.
- Provide expert advice and strategic guidance to HR, managers, and employees on complex employee relations issues, including conflict resolution, performance management, disability and religious accommodation, protected leaves, layoffs and terminations, and policy interpretation.
- Assess risk and recommend effective strategies to mitigate potential employee relations challenges.
- Communicate clearly and persuasively with key stakeholders at all levels, ensuring alignment and understanding of workplace relations initiatives.
- Develop, deliver, and continuously improve training materials and resources to enhance employee relations capabilities across the organization.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to design and implement programs that support a positive, respectful, and productive work environment.
- Stay current on industry trends, legal developments, and best practices in employee relations, sharing insights and recommendations with the team.
- Support the Workforce Solutions Center of Excellence and HR leadership in strategic initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and 12 years of relevant experience
- Proven experience leading teams in employee relations, HR consulting, employment law, or a related field.
- Broad HR expertise and strong business acumen
- Demonstrated ability to assess risk and provide sound, strategic guidance on sensitive and complex workplace issues.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence employees and leaders at all levels of the organization in a manner that gains confidence and builds trust.
- Outstanding analytical and problem-solving abilities; attention to detail coupled with the ability to think strategically and act decisively using a data-informed approach.
- Experience developing and facilitating training programs and resources.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a solution-focused mindset.
- Must be proficient in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Legal background or significant experience partnering closely with counsel (preferred)
- Experience collaborating with other functions within the organization (preferred)
- Experience working for a mid to large size government contractor (preferred)
- Master’s degree or equivalent experience preferred with an employment practices/JD/employee relations focus (preferred)
