About the role
- Supervise a team of Medical Laboratory Technicians analyzing samples to help veterinarians diagnose and treat pets
- Organize staff schedules, coordinate workflow, and oversee costs and metrics
- Troubleshoot diagnostic analyzers and resolve workflow and turnaround time challenges
- Act as both a business leader and people leader for the lab and line of business
- Coach and develop employees to reach business goals and their full potential
- Promote continuous improvement, collaboration, inclusiveness, and lab safety
Requirements
- Directly supervised 10+ employees in a fast-paced and/or high-volume work environment
- Knowledge of human clinical or veterinary testing and procedures
- Passion for people leadership
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume, innovative work environment
- Able to meet physical requirements: standing and sitting for extended periods of time, phone & computer use, extended reach, lifting up to 50lb, and specific vision ability – close, color, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
- Willingness to work Tuesday-Saturday, 8:30am-5:00pm; reliable and dependable attendance
- Awareness of potential exposure to biohazards, agents known to cause zoonotic diseases, and hazardous chemicals
