About the role
- Serve as a freelance ASL (American Sign Language) interpreter connecting clients with language services
- Operate as a 1099 Independent Contractor: set availability and accept appointments based on schedule
- Provide on-site interpreting appointments Monday - Friday, 8 am - 5 pm
- Appointments are offered based on need and are not guaranteed
- Maintain professional standards to support language access for clients regardless of English proficiency
- Complete onboarding, skills assessment, and background check when required
Requirements
- Exhibit proficiency in ASL (American Sign Language)
- Be willing to complete ASL (American Sign Language) assessment by as Certified ASL Professional (exceptions can be made with proven work history and certifications).
- Complete all required documents in a timely manner.
- Flexibility to work in different settings and adapt to various work environments.
- Must be located in and authorized to work in the US (We do not offer visa sponsorship).
- High School Diploma or equivalent
