About the role
- Operate as a freelance ASL interpreter providing interpretation services to support language access
- Act as a 1099 Independent Contractor: set your availability and accept appointments based on your schedule
- Provide on-site interpretation in various settings and adapt to different work environments
- Complete required assessments, background checks, onboarding, and required documentation to join the linguist network
- Support clients Monday - Friday, 8 am - 5 pm when appointments are available; appointments are not guaranteed
Requirements
- Exhibit proficiency in ASL (American Sign Language)
- Be willing to complete ASL assessment by a Certified ASL Professional (exceptions can be made with proven work history and certifications)
- Complete all required documents in a timely manner
- Flexibility to work in different settings and adapt to various work environments
- Must be located in and authorized to work in the US (We do not offer visa sponsorship)
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Willingness to complete a skills assessment and background check
- Availability to accept appointments Monday - Friday, 8 am - 5 pm (appointments are offered based on need)
