About the role
- Operate as a freelance ASL (American Sign Language) interpreter/translator as a 1099 Independent Contractor
- Set your availability and accept appointments based on your schedule
- Provide ASL interpretation to bridge communication for clients regardless of English proficiency
- Accept assignments offered based on need; appointments available Monday - Friday, 8 am - 5 pm
- Complete skills assessment, background check, and onboarding to join the linguist network
- Work in different settings and adapt to various work environments
- Interpreters' rates vary depending on availability, experience, and demand
Requirements
- Exhibit proficiency in ASL (American Sign Language)
- Be willing to complete ASL (American Sign Language) assessment by as Certified ASL Professional (exceptions can be made with proven work history and certifications)
- Complete all required documents in a timely manner
- Flexibility to work in different settings and adapt to various work environments
- Must be located in and authorized to work in the US (We do not offer visa sponsorship)
- High School Diploma or equivalent
