About the role
- Provide American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation services as a freelance 1099 Independent Contractor
- Set your own availability and accept appointments based on schedule
- Interpret in various on-site settings and adapt to different work environments
- Work primarily during business hours Monday–Friday, 8 am–5 pm
- Participate in skills assessment, background check, and onboarding to join the linguist network
- Support language access for clients and contribute to compassionate language services
Requirements
- Exhibit proficiency in ASL (American Sign Language)
- Be willing to complete ASL (American Sign Language) assessment by as Certified ASL Professional (exceptions can be made with proven work history and certifications)
- Complete all required documents in a timely manner
- Flexibility to work in different settings and adapt to various work environments
- Must be located in and authorized to work in the US (We do not offer visa sponsorship)
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Submit application and describe interpreting experience
- Complete skills assessment and background check if invited
