About the role
- Operate as a freelance Protactile ASL (American Sign Language) interpreter in a 1099 Independent Contractor role
- Provide on-site interpreting appointments Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm
- Set your own availability and accept appointments based on your schedule (appointments are not guaranteed)
- Complete onboarding to join the linguist network if qualified
- Adapt to different settings and work environments to support language access
- Support Hanna Interpreting Services' mission to bridge communication gaps for clients
Requirements
- Exhibit proficiency in ASL (American Sign Language)
- Willing to complete ASL (American Sign Language) assessment by a Certified ASL Professional (exceptions can be made with proven work history and certifications)
- Complete all required documents in a timely manner
- Flexibility to work in different settings and adapt to various work environments
- Must be located in and authorized to work in the US (We do not offer visa sponsorship)
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Submit your application and describe experience interpreting in a professional or volunteer capacity
- Complete preliminary interview, skills assessment, and background check as part of onboarding
