About the role
- Oversee case production operations, including drafting client and legal correspondence documents
- Lead case status team meetings with junior and senior Case Coordinators as needed
- Monitor case timelines/deadlines and keep attorneys apprised of relevant timing issues
- Assign cases and adjust workload allocation to ensure deadlines are met
- Address productivity issues and proactively resolve impediments
- Examine and address questions or case issues raised by Case Coordinators, providing guidance or escalating to attorneys
- Function as a primary case reviewer for drafts/final submissions, spotting and addressing major case issues
- Prepare case summaries and documents to support case preparation and assist attorney in client communication
- Prepare and draft filings, including routine and advanced filings (RFE responses, complex fact patterns)
- Facilitate communications between client and team as primary point-of-contact and provide case updates to clients
- Provide training and mentorship to Case Coordinators and new team members
- Establish working relationships with clients to ensure relevant communications on client accounts
- Generate reports for case teams and oversee report generation for clients
- Ensure team follows firm protocol for file maintenance, record-keeping and use of case management system
- Support and lead additional projects and assist with ad-hoc administrative functions as required
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in all types of nonimmigrant and immigrant petitions
- Demonstrated high level of competence in designated area of immigration law
- Strong verbal, written, and organizational skills
- Willingness to take on added responsibilities and learn new things
- Ability to show initiative and work as part of a team
- Attention to detail
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and ability to adapt quickly to firm-specific software
- Excellent time management skills
- Bachelor’s degree
