Attorney

• Provide comprehensive civil legal services to low-income people living with HIV in New York City, including housing, benefits, discrimination, family law, and advance planning.
• Conduct comprehensive legal needs assessments and reassess clients regularly.
• Prepare advance planning documents such as wills, health care proxies, and living wills.
• Deliver family law services focused on future care and custody planning, guardianship, adoption, and foster care.
• Support transgender, non-binary, and gender non-conforming clients with documentation and legal issues.
• Educate clients about their legal rights and conduct outreach and training to community-based providers.
• Maintain accurate records and support program reporting, funder audits, and data quality efforts.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support coordinated client care.
• Participate in occasional evenings, court appearances, in-office client appointments, and the annual AIDS Walk New York event.
