Report to the Director, Corporate Strategy and serve as a Manager in GM’s Corporate Strategy Team.
Lead strategic projects including defining scope, key questions, required analysis, and executing the work.
Develop work plans, gather and generate relevant data, drive analyses, and develop actionable recommendations.
Engage the business in defining and refining business strategies; design and implement new strategic approaches, ideas and processes.
Manage project teams and align on cross-functional goals and outcomes.
Build credibility and trust with leaders across the organization to achieve collaborative implementation of growth strategies.
Disrupt the status quo and drive innovation to transform business operations.
In partnership with Corporate Development, explore potential M&A/Joint Venture/partnership opportunities.
Develop ideas to continuously refine and improve the core business and serve as a strategy advocate by socializing the strategy framework/toolkit.
Hybrid role: expected to report to Warren, Michigan (Global HQ) three times per week, at minimum.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Economics, Marketing, Engineering, or a related discipline.
Prior managerial experience.
Proven and successful track record of developing and driving strategic and purpose-driven growth initiatives.
Strength and depth of experience in corporate strategy: formulation, activation, and execution coordination.
Demonstrated strategy DNA developed from considerable experience in strategy consulting or internal strategy leadership roles.
Strong business and financial acumen.
Knowledge and experience from leadership roles in customer-oriented industries with focus on digital transformation and technology-driven change.
Strong leadership skills including building relationships, influencing others, collaborative problem solving, and effective partnership with key internal stakeholders.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Goes beyond strategy definition and into effective execution.
Strong project management skills with a keen attention to detail and operations with a sense of urgency.
Comfort with ambiguity; high energy and resilience; skilled at solving complex problems.
Strong personal ethics and a high sense of integrity.
Strong Analytical ability to drive strategy decision making.
Preferred: Master’s degree in business administration (MBA).
