• Own the hiring process end-to-end, including candidate communications, scheduling, program management, and funnel analysis
• Shape sourcing strategy across channels, events, partners, and outreach
• Build onboarding that equips new employees during their first week
• Own benefits, payroll, and HRIS operations, including vendor selection and changes
• Establish policies and practices supporting candid feedback, continuous learning, and clear performance expectations
• Advise managers and employees on performance concerns, conflict, feedback, and employee relations
• Manage federal and multi-state employment compliance
• Determine which compliance matters to handle in-house versus escalate to outside counsel and HR providers
• Manage leaves, accommodations, and worker classification risks
• Track visa cases, business licenses, state registrations, required trainings, and postings
• Report directly to the Chief of Staff as the first dedicated People/HR hire
• Design and run people systems while helping define and hire future operations roles

• Work as the second in-house engineer alongside the Lead Software Engineer and an external technical consultant
• Write code from day one against defined feature work
• Contribute to the progressive replacement of a legacy monolith with a modern Next.js and .NET stack on Azure
• Develop features for the platform's V2 architecture
• Take ownership of larger features end to end as V2 matures
• Help shape the engineering practice in a young team
• Build software serving millions of learners across education, health, and climate initiatives

Account Executive

• Source and close new-business deals with UK schools and multi-academy trusts, owning the full sales cycle end-to-end
• Build relationships with senior decision-makers, from classroom teachers to C-suite and central pedagogical leadership
• Represent the company at trade shows, conferences, and networking events across the UK
• Manage shorter transactional deals and longer complex enterprise sales cycles
• Negotiate commercial terms and pricing with senior stakeholders
• Contribute to and help shape the sales culture as the team scales
• Build and manage a personal pipeline
• Travel regularly across the UK to visit schools and attend events

Artificial Intelligence

• Create and fully own a growing portfolio of Focused Research Organizations and other scientific projects advancing AI resilience
• Roadmap the AI resilience landscape to identify bottlenecks and keystone capabilities
• Source and diligence ideas for projects and organizations
• Design funding calls in partnership with funders
• Build founding teams and recruit early hires
• Contribute to and coach founders on technical and organizational roadmaps, fundraising, and startup operations
• Serve as a Director on multiple FRO boards
• Keep teams on track against milestones and advise on funding, strategic direction, hiring, firing, and operations
• Represent Convergent externally and build relationships with philanthropic and public funders
• Contribute to Convergent-wide initiatives such as Founder Retreats and Residencies

• Reposition the website messaging so it says what the company does and why it matters.
• Build the founders' LinkedIn presence into a credible, consistent channel.
• Establish the social cadence and voice for the company.
• Prepare press and partner-facing materials so they're ready to go the moment the seed round and partnership news land.
• Leave behind a playbook the team can run once the engagement ends.
