About the role

  • Bridge People Operations, Payroll, and Finance; own intersection of employee data, compliance, and analytics.
  • Lead analysis of people and payroll data across multiple systems to deliver actionable insights.
  • Build and maintain dashboards and reports for leadership to support decision-making and workforce planning.
  • Respond to requests for EEOC, headcount, demographic, and wage data across business units.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to identify reporting needs and build scalable solutions.
  • Ensure adherence to local, state, and federal laws regarding employee data, pay, leave, and tax.
  • Handle employment verification & wage reporting requests (Workers' Compensation, Unemployment, Department of Labor) and internal audit support.
  • Own benefit billing reconciliation and file feed troubleshooting with vendors and systems.
  • Monitor regulatory changes and update internal documentation/processes accordingly.
  • Identify and lead process improvements to streamline reporting and reduce manual effort.
  • Drive data cleanup and governance across HRIS, payroll, and benefits systems.
  • Serve as systems translator between HR, Payroll, and IT; increase automation.
  • Act as project lead or contributor on new systems, integrations, or operational rollouts.

Requirements

  • 3+ years in HR or payroll analytics, reporting, or compliance.
  • Experience in high-growth or multi-state environments preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Analytics, HR, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Advanced Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables, vlookups).
  • Experience with HRIS and payroll systems (e.g., Arcoro, ADP, Sage, CruncHR).
  • Familiarity with data tools (Power BI, SQL, or similar) a plus.
  • Analytical problem solver who thrives on identifying trends and cleaning up messy data.
  • Able to zoom in for detail and zoom out for strategy; comfortable with ambiguity, shifting priorities, and building from scratch.
  • Excellent communicator who can collaborate across functions and influence change.
