About the role

  • Join Digital Twin Projects group to design and implement digital twin simulation solutions modeling real-time power plant behavior
  • Support design, configuration, and implementation of simulation systems for power plants
  • Develop and test control logic models to replicate real-world plant operations in simulation
  • Lead and collaborate with process simulation engineers and project managers to solve problems and share learnings
  • Lead customer-facing activities: controls validation, performance testing of simulation models, and acceptance tests
  • Contribute to global cross-functional projects and support senior engineers
  • Take initiative in learning simulation tools, automation platforms, and industry standards
  • Support development of internal tools to boost project efficiency
  • Support teammates and customers through Emerson core values
  • Work on automation controls and instrumentation to promote sustainability and longevity of the North American power grid

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, technical, or equivalent
  • 2+ years of engineering experience, preferably in automation, simulation, or controls
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to learn quickly
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team-oriented environment
  • Comfort presenting technical concepts to both engineers and non-technical stakeholders
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering
  • Preferred: 5 years of engineering experience in automation, simulation, or controls
  • Preferred: Experience with simulation platforms (e.g., HYSYS, MATLAB, Simulink)
  • Preferred: Exposure to power generation systems, plant operations or industrial environments
  • Preferred: Prior experience supporting customer-facing projects, training programs, or technical workshops
  • Preferred: Interest in continuous learning and staying current with industry advancements in automation, simulation, and control systems
