About the role
- Remote role within Embrace's M&A Business Development team sourcing software acquisition opportunities.
- Search for, find, and contact owners/CEOs/founders of software companies to source acquisition targets.
- Leverage existing relationships and build new ones with decision makers, M&A advisors, private equity and venture capital professionals (United States focus).
- Initiate and maintain executive-level relationships and communicate Embrace's value proposition.
- Manage and champion Salesforce CRM to track and monitor target accounts and ensure BD/M&A alignment.
- Perform market analysis to identify new markets/industries for platform acquisitions.
- Set quarterly, monthly and weekly targets for self and other BD resources and meet/exceed BD sourcing KPIs (discovery and follow-up calls).
- Qualify opportunities at the top-end of the acquisition funnel for efficient M&A team focus.
- Coach and lead other BD resources, define KPIs, and hold team members accountable.
- Report to the Sr. Manager of Business Development.
Requirements
- Passionate about the business development profession and its growth potential within Embrace.
- At least 3+ years of experience in Business Development/Sales at a software company or client-facing M&A/finance role.
- Prior experience in a VMS acquisitive organization is preferred.
- Having sourced at least 1 closed transaction in current or previous M&A Biz Dev role.
- Basic understanding of financial terms and metrics (Revenue, Churn/Attrition/GDR, COGS, opex, ARR etc).
- Advanced verbal and written communication skills and executive presence to speak with CEOs, M&A advisors, corporate development, private equity and venture capital professionals.
- Organized, detail oriented, and able to work variable hours.
- Extraordinary work ethic, proactive with a sense of urgency.
- MBA or CFA considered an asset.
- Prior experience in business development in the Healthcare or Industrial space is an asset.
- Able to define processes and strategy in an ambiguous environment.
- Proven business development best practices, workflows, strategies, and approaches.
- Experience managing and championing Salesforce CRM and tracking target accounts.
- Ability to set and meet quarterly, monthly and weekly BD targets and KPIs.
