About the role

  • Lead strategic initiatives focused on pipeline analytics and tracking impacts of breeding technologies on genetic gain
  • Design and influence strategies for deployment of predictive breeding and data-driven decision sciences in berry pipelines
  • Partner with breeding Directors to provide data-driven insights for performance of global berry breeding programs
  • Oversee deployment of new genetics across four berry crops to drive consumer delight and grower profitability
  • Drive initiatives aligned with R&D global strategies including data-driven stage gate advancements and automation of decision analytics
  • Design strategies for phase-in of new breeding methods and evaluate genomic selection models and digital phenotyping solutions
  • Represent breeding on digital transformation steering teams
  • Provide leadership, team purpose, and performance assessment for varietal breeding team in EMEA; track operational and capital budgeting
  • Maintain role with EMEA product leadership team and participate in strategic business plans in EMEA
  • Communicate opportunities to Global R&D leadership and partner to manage financial allocations
  • Follow Company policies and ensure security of confidential and proprietary information

Requirements

  • PhD in Plant Breeding, Quantitative Genetics, Data Science or related fields
  • 5 years’ experience in plant breeding industry
  • Proven record of adopting pipeline analytics and decision sciences
  • Experience in Plant Breeding, Agronomy, and growers’ economics
  • Skilled in team leadership and driving change initiatives
  • Track record in adopting predictive analytics methods, driving digital transformation and steering broad, complex programs and multiple projects, simultaneously
  • Spanish speaking skills preferred
