About the role

  • Initiate relationships with key architects to develop unique specifications and follow through with main contractors
  • Seek, research and develop new UK non-residential market opportunities for the company’s products and services
  • Progress all UK non-residential sales enquiries and convert leads into orders at required margins
  • Follow through opportunities with designers, specifiers and contractors to generate or convert quotations
  • Carry out quotation follow-up calls and manage contacts via the company’s CRM
  • Receive and process orders and pass to the company’s commercial department
  • Utilise and contribute to CRM information to create new business and convert opportunities
  • Feedback competitor activity to the business and CRM
  • Identify new market opportunities for lead generation, product development and potential business ventures
  • Attend required design or pre-start site meetings
  • Utilise construction industry marketing information software to improve quotation conversion
  • Support and liaise with estimating department on contractor enquiries and quotation requests
  • Support and liaise with marketing department on product information, web leads, PR and exhibitions/CPD
  • Deliver sales and CPD presentations as required
  • Support customer, designer and authority visits to company premises and reference sites
  • Ensure orders have clear terms, comprehensively cover customer requirements, meet margin requirements and unambiguous quotes
  • Support post-order problem resolution such as payments and schedule adherence when requested

Requirements

  • Previous and proven sales experience
  • Ability to learn and respond to technical information enquiries
  • Business related or Technical qualification
  • Sold products within the ‘high end’ commercial construction market (e.g. fire doors, fire stopping, lift solutions) (desirable)
  • Worked in a manufacturing environment (desirable)
  • Worked in a construction industry related business (desirable)
  • Worked in a project orientated or heavily bespoke product environment (desirable)
  • Fire and/or Safety Background (desirable)
  • Formal sales training (desirable)
