Prepares a variety of legal documents and correspondence in final format.
Assists attorneys in preparing for court and scans discovery into an automated system.
Maintains a court calendar; assembles trial and grand jury exhibits and notebooks.
Maintains a variety of legal files; ensures legal documentation is maintained correctly within specific case files; closes files for onsite storage and ships closed files to be archived offsite.
Assists attorneys and paralegal with electronic filing of legal documents (Case Management/Electronic Case Filing CM/ECF) with the Court (training provided).
Reviews files and corrects omissions in records; checks closed files to ensure proper closing procedures have been followed.
Assists the Administrative Division with special projects (mail, moves, court runs, etc.).
Serves as back-up receptionist.
Requirements
At least one year of specialized litigation experience required, however over three years is preferred.
Specialized experience reviewing legal documents (complaints, motions, orders, answers, pleadings, subpoenas, libels) for completeness; retrieving and assembling information for hearings/trials; researching legal sources; maintaining file systems; using automated software to produce legal reports/documents/correspondence.
Requires excellent written and oral communication skills.
Hands-on familiarity with MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat.
Ability to consistently deliver highest quality work under extreme pressure.
Ability to obtain a Public Trust Security Clearance.
Must be a United States Citizen and have lived in the United States for at least 3 out of the last 5 years.
