About the role

  • From phone report, gather and evaluate information from the injured worker and/or employer to determine level and/or category of injury, based on set criteria.
  • Data entry of initial claim (First Report of Injury) set up in system, in a precise and accurate manner – from phone, fax, or email while working efficiently within deadlines and timeframes.
  • Adhere to phone-tree procedures per State of Florida contract, including emergency protocols.
  • Route the FROI call to the appropriate Triage Unit member for further handling.
  • Verification of data for accurate claim entry, such as spelling, grammar, valid SSN, location, etc., in a timely manner.
  • Research any situations that do not allow claim entry to ensure claim is entered to the system.
  • Follow company procedures and State mandated timeframes to comply with laws.
  • Print, organize, and verify all related forms for daily mail-out.
  • Verify all data daily for control purposes via printed lists.
  • Scan and attach new claim documents to the system.
  • Assist with other clerical duties as necessary.
  • Perform other duties as needed.
  • This role is a full-time, home-based position covering a weekend shift (Saturday and Sunday) from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least one (1) year of medical terminology or medical office experience is preferred.
  • Bilingual (Spanish and English).
  • Proactive, independent, and takes initiative with consistent follow through.
  • Superb communication skills, verbal and written, conducted in a timely manner.
  • Superior time management skills with capability of working with and meeting deadlines.
  • Exceptional capability to multi-task and prioritize with excellent organization and documentation skills in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
