About the role
- Lead and develop mechanical and parts teams (apprentices to trades and team leaders)
- Build and embed efficient processes that cut costs, boost quality, and give the team ownership
- Monitor and keep labour utilisation and parts costs on track; turn data into clear results
- Roll up your sleeves when needed to keep production moving
- Champion continuous improvement and embed smarter ways of working
- Partner with finance, procurement, and production teams to ensure smooth vehicle flow
- Foster a safe, high-performing, people-first workplace
- Report to: Hugo Acosta
- Location: Production centre in St Peters, Sydney (onsite)
Requirements
- 5+ years experience as a people leader
- Comfortable managing technical team members (apprentices, trades, team leaders)
- Strong commercial mindset with track record in cost management and reporting
- Experience building and embedding new processes
- Exposure to a production or operations environment (automotive a bonus)
- Continuous improvement mindset; knowledge of Lean, Kaizen or Six Sigma a plus
- Comfortable being hands on while balancing daily targets with big-picture planning
- Valid NSW driver’s license
- Full-time availability and ability to work from St Peters, Sydney (Production centre)
