• Design, implement, and manage robust security controls and policies within AWS, focusing on the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data and services.
• Perform comprehensive security assessments of our cloud environments to identify vulnerabilities, assess risks, and recommend actionable mitigation strategies.
• Lead the integration of security practices into the DevOps lifecycle, promoting secure development, deployment, and operational processes.
• Utilize and optimize AWS security tools (such as Amazon GuardDuty, Amazon Inspector, AWS IAM, AWS KMS, AWS WAF, and AWS Shield) and explore third-party solutions to bolster our security posture.
• Assist in running and address findings from penetration tests and security audits, and ensuring prompt and effective remediation.
• Stay informed about the latest security threats, vulnerabilities, and compliance mandates affecting cloud environments, provide strategic guidance on technologies and best practices.
• Provide expert mentorship to junior security team members and engineers across the company, to foster an organizational culture of security awareness and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to integrate security requirements effectively into engineering projects and broader business initiatives.

• Be responsible for the full lifecycle development of our privacy-focused telecommunications and deployment infrastructure.
• Build, integrate, and maintain our instrumentation and monitoring infrastructure and tooling for improving the reliability, availability, and performance of our system.
• Help solve issues proactively before they become issues.
• Build new or integrate with existing telecommunications infrastructure and components.
• Own the technical accreditation and compliance process end-to-end for FedRamp.
• Shape and influence what great software engineering practices look like.

Site Reliability Engineer

Solutions Engineer

• Own the engagement with a new/early customer and deploy Cape technology
• Be boots on the ground working with customers to understand their challenges and deploy our technology
• Cultivate relationships at all levels of seniority and create and deliver executive presentations to ensure buy-in
• Burn through frozen-middle bureaucracies to clear a path to success
• Work fluidly with product and engineering to ensure product direction aligns with customers’ on-the-ground reality
• Influence cross-team members to direct the appropriate resources to customer objectives
• Demonstrate a high degree of interdependence: make decisions and lead initiatives while leveraging engineering and product expertise

Solutions Architect

Product Manager

• Set the vision and roadmap for Obscura, an integrated hardware+software privacy product
• Translate high-stakes customer needs into technical requirements across hardware, software, and cellular networks
• Lead cross-functional teams (engineering, design, operations) to execute roadmap and remove blockers
• Serve as product owner driving strategy, execution, and operations; report to Head of Product
• Champion Obscura customers and their privacy/security needs to inform roadmap decisions
• Define clear, actionable requirements and set high standards for quality and delivery
• Manage supply chain complexity: partner with operations, align with vendors, forecast demand, manage inventory, ensure high-quality shipments

Android Engineer

• Own the Android experience end-to-end—this is your product as much as ours.
• Invent novel ways to manage telephony on Android devices.
• Wire up Android apps to deep telecom infrastructure.
• Work shoulder-to-shoulder with backend, product, and telecom engineers.
• Balance scrappy short-term wins with bold long-term bets.
• Go low-level when needed: Telephony APIs, 4G/5G connectivity, device-level features.
• Build a new kind of mobile provider from the ground up and ship software to government, defense, and privacy-conscious consumers.

Communications

• Design and deliver core networks that support essential features (voice, data, messaging), address customer use cases, and solve hard problems with novel, never-been-done solutions—while ensuring scale and reliability.
• Partner across teams and vendors to stitch together solutions and bring them successfully to market.
• Implement new features with zero disruption to live users through well-planned MOPs, maintenance windows, test plans, and phased rollouts.
• Troubleshoot deeply—dig into network traces with partners and vendors to isolate root causes and resolve complex issues.
• Interconnect networks—from private to commercial, roaming to MVNO—ensuring seamless interoperability.
• Drive new standards in security and privacy, whether by encrypting data, eliminating unnecessary storage (e.g. CDRs), augmenting 3GPP/GSMA functions, or inventing new protections against malicious actors.
• Stand up new network instances in new regions or with functionality tailored to evolving customer needs.

Telecommunications Architect

Network Operations

• Track and manage every detail of network rollouts: define project plans, coordinate resources, and escalate when things go off track.
• Develop and execute test cases for new functionality launches.
• Configure devices and create repeatable runbooks to ensure smooth deployments.

• Deliver anonymized dashboards for partner MNOs, ensuring they have visibility into usage on their networks.
