About the role

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned clients and develop and maintain client relationships
  • Manage day-to-day client communication and execute public relations strategies to achieve client goals
  • Pull and manage media and influencer databases; draft and distribute pitches, press releases, and media alerts; conduct follow up and monitor for coverage
  • Coordinate media interviews and develop spokesperson briefing documents
  • Build relationships with key journalists and influencers
  • Lead client media awards programs including research, recommendations, submissions, and deadline management
  • Review junior team members' to-do lists, media lists, edit pitches and press materials, and provide feedback
  • Participate in brainstorms and contribute creative ideas for client campaigns, new product launches, and pitch angles
  • Coordinate project/campaign/account timelines and deliverables; track progress and communicate with clients
  • Assist in research, planning, and execution of virtual or live press media & influencer press events and creative media mailers

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field
  • 3-4 years of PR agency experience in the consumer goods industry
  • 3+ years of full-time agency experience in consumer products PR or integrated marketing
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • A proactive, self-starter attitude with a passion for staying ahead of trends
  • Experience with media relations, influencer pitching, and building relationships with journalists and influencers
  • Experience drafting and distributing pitches, press releases, media alerts, and conducting follow up
  • Experience coordinating media interviews and developing spokesperson briefing documents
  • Experience leading awards programs, including research and submission management
  • Experience coordinating events/activations, media mailers, and press events
  • Experience reviewing and providing feedback to junior staff
