• support the Engineering and Design business unit, completing geotechnical engineering projects by performing geotechnical computer modeling, specifying and interpreting soil and rock investigations (including drilling and cone penetrometer testing), overseeing on-site and in-laboratory material testing, and installing instrumentation
• provide continuous on-site support for construction observation, subsurface investigations, in-situ testing, instrumentation installation, surveying, materials testing, and facility inspections

• support Barr’s environmental review and natural resources management efforts, primarily across the Midwest
• lead and support environmental review, permitting, and compliance projects for a variety of clients
• work closely with clients and multidisciplinary teams to identify opportunities, scope and execute projects
• provide strategic and technical guidance related to environmental permitting and compliance
• conduct and oversee wetland delineations, functional assessments, impact assessments, mitigation planning, and construction monitoring activities

Human Resources

• responsible for the strategic direction, planning, and performance of the BSG HR function
• Collaborate with BSG leaders and corporate HR staff to align HR activities with company-wide goals

• ensure immediate and future BSG talent needs are addressed with robust staffing strategies in line with Barr’s talent management framework
