About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support our structural engineering group by providing design and technical expertise for heavy industrial sites
- Perform structural analysis and structural inspection, develop plans and specifications, and create structural models
- Write reports and support construction observation activities
- Participate in site visits and inspections to observe construction activities and help ensure compliance with design intent
- Use word processing, spreadsheet, and structural engineering software to support project tasks and team collaboration
- Work closely with a multidisciplinary team of engineers and project managers while developing your skillset in a professional consulting environment
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with a structural emphasis (including structural analysis and steel and concrete design)
- 5+ years of relevant experience
- Professional Engineer (PE) certified or ability to obtain within one year
- Experience with AutoCAD, Excel, Revit, STAAD Pro, Advanced Steel, RISA 3D, or MathCAD
- Possession of a current, valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship by Barr, now or in the future.
