About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Support our structural engineering group by providing design and technical expertise for heavy industrial sites
Perform structural analysis and structural inspection, develop plans and specifications, and create structural models
Write reports and support construction observation activities
Participate in site visits and inspections to observe construction activities and help ensure compliance with design intent
Use word processing, spreadsheet, and structural engineering software to support project tasks and team collaboration
Work closely with a multidisciplinary team of engineers and project managers while developing your skillset in a professional consulting environment

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with a structural emphasis (including structural analysis and steel and concrete design)
5+ years of relevant experience
Professional Engineer (PE) certified or ability to obtain within one year
Experience with AutoCAD, Excel, Revit, STAAD Pro, Advanced Steel, RISA 3D, or MathCAD
Possession of a current, valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship by Barr, now or in the future.
