About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

support the Water Resources group on hydrologic analysis related to stormwater planning and flood control
hydraulic analysis and design related to rivers, streams, conveyances, dams, and other hydraulic structures including 1-D and 2-D modeling
scour analysis, watershed analysis, and streambank stability
preparation of technical reports, plans, and specifications
working with clients, permitting agencies, and public officials
work with and/or oversee diverse teams of engineers and scientists on hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, water-quality modeling, GIS, and CADD work
assist in planning, coordinating, and executing projects
help ensure project milestones are met and provide regular updates to team members and clients
develop and maintain client relationships; develop proposals and business development

Requirements

What you’ll need

bachelor’s degree in civil or environmental engineering, with emphasis on water resources
15 or more years of water resources engineering experience with a focus on hydrology, hydraulics, or water quality
Experience with project management
Experience with proposals and business development
Experience with client management
Professional Engineer (PE) license
knowledge of commonly used hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software, GIS, and CADD software
possession of a current, valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship by Barr, now or in the future.
