About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • support the Water Resources group on hydrologic analysis related to stormwater planning and flood control
  • hydraulic analysis and design related to rivers, streams, conveyances, dams, and other hydraulic structures including 1-D and 2-D modeling
  • scour analysis, watershed analysis, and streambank stability
  • preparation of technical reports, plans, and specifications
  • working with clients, permitting agencies, and public officials
  • work with and/or oversee diverse teams of engineers and scientists on hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, water-quality modeling, GIS, and CADD work
  • assist in planning, coordinating, and executing projects
  • help ensure project milestones are met and provide regular updates to team members and clients
  • develop and maintain client relationships; develop proposals and business development

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • bachelor’s degree in civil or environmental engineering, with emphasis on water resources
  • 15 or more years of water resources engineering experience with a focus on hydrology, hydraulics, or water quality
  • Experience with project management
  • Experience with proposals and business development
  • Experience with client management
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • knowledge of commonly used hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software, GIS, and CADD software
  • possession of a current, valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship by Barr, now or in the future.
