QA Engineer

• Perform chemical and physical analyses (including flavor checks) on product, ingredient, and control samples according to laboratory procedures
• Understand the concepts of each analysis, anticipate the result and follow through on any deviation
• Record all product analysis according to laboratory protocols including data entry on a computer system
• Weigh up ingredients that are less than a pound for production
• Communicate effectively all critical information regarding analyses, procedures, and test results
• Communicate electronically to customers as requested by the Quality Manager/Supervisor
• Prepare product sampling materials
• Clean and maintain all equipment/materials used while keeping the laboratory clean and organized
• Follow all laboratory GLP and plant GMP and safety procedures according to company guidelines
• Provide written reports as requested
• Collect and distribute products and all environmental samples as part of general plant QA responsibilities
• Collect ingredient samples when requested by management
• Cover essential functions of the Laboratory/QA Technician and other assigned responsibilities during absence of QA Manager/Supervisor
• Assist production on their assigned shift with any quality-related questions or contact QA management staff if necessary
• Perform all other duties as assigned
