Conduct detailed assortment analysis to identify opportunities for optimization and innovation
Independently develop and recommend shelving and POG strategies aligned with customer and category goals
Approximately 25% focus on planogram development involving detailed assortment analysis
Develop and present selling strategies and build solid sales stories using syndicated, panel, basket, shopper, and other sources of data
Provide analytical support and evaluate the impact of category decisions for major manufacturers
Participate in the category review process and work with cross-functional teams to provide complete category management solutions
Independently develop and maintain client-specific reporting that measures performance against strategies and objectives
Work closely with assigned clients and business managers to become trusted advisors and maintain connectivity to ensure understanding of KPIs and innovation
Provide follow-up, summarize results, submit success stories, and attend sales calls
Independently manage project plans, tracking, communication, and timing
Requirements
High School Diploma/GED (minimum)
Bachelor’s Degree (preferred)
Category Management Certification (preferred)
Related work experience can be substituted for the educational requirement
3-5 years related work experience
Demonstrate an advanced degree of proficiency in Windows and related software applications, including Excel, PowerPoint; knowledge of Power BI would be a strong asset
Experience with syndicated data and/or space management tools
Effectively and independently conduct data mining utilizing CPG math concepts and tools
Communicates clearly and effectively while understanding and adapting to the audience
Independently manage project plans and assume responsibility for tracking, communication, and timing
Recognize problems and issues and identify the information needed to diagnose
Demonstrate drive to meet the expectations and requirements of internal and external stakeholders
Execute strategic objectives and provide input as needed to keep priorities on track
Experience using technical software: EYC, SymphonyAI, Circana, Nielsen, Numerator, Market6 & Stratum, Blue Yonder or Apollo
Physical abilities: Seeing, Color Perception, Touching
Willingness to travel for client engagements and leadership meetings
