About the role
- Work independently within an assigned territory leading commercial execution to increase market share and drive sustainable growth.
- Sell Abbott Point of Care (i-STAT System) diagnostic products to hospitals in Northern AL/S.TN and E. MS.
- Achieve sales targets through efficient and effective sales cycle and territory management.
- Maintain sales base while closing new business in both new and existing accounts.
- Navigate complex sales environments with multiple stakeholders and dynamic decision-making criteria while building relationships.
- Develop and execute sales strategies; anticipate risks and implement mitigation plans.
- Partner with internal support team members to identify opportunities and move sales cycles forward.
- Complete administrative tasks promptly and accurately (training modules, expense reports, sales forecasts, etc.).
- Travel within assigned territory up to 50% to provide customer-focused service; some regional overnight travel required.
- Understand and comply with applicable EHS policies, procedures and guidelines.
- Responsible for implementing and maintaining the effectiveness of the Quality System.
- Position reports to the District Manager.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree
- 4+ years of sales experience OR 0-3 years of sales experience with a Clinical Background (BSN, RN, MLT, CLS, RT, etc.)
- Ability to travel up to 50% in assigned territory and other business locations in the USA (some regional, overnight travel required)
- Documented history of being a consistent sales overachiever (e.g., President’s Club winner) (preferred)
- Consistently ranks among the top 20% in peer sales group (preferred)
- Diagnostics, point of care (POC), lab, or capital equipment sales experience (preferred)
- Established contacts at IDN's and Hospital Systems within assigned territory (preferred)
- Strong MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word) skills (preferred)
- Highly proficient at using the Salesforce.com, or similar, CRM platform (preferred)
- Attended multiple sales training courses (e.g., Challenger, Miller Heiman) and active user of effective sales methodologies (preferred)
