• Lead proposal development by analyzing client-provided drawings, specifications, and communications to define accurate scopes of work.
• Build client relationships by gathering project details, clarifying expectations, and ensuring a seamless proposal experience.
• Collaborate with internal teams including sales, estimating, and operations to align scope, pricing, and execution strategies.
• Define technical scope elements such as chemistries, volumes, labor, equipment needs, and project timelines for each bid.
• Prepare accurate, timely proposals that meet Quality Management System (QMS) standards and align with internal protocols.
• Support pricing strategy by collecting and analyzing cost data for labor, materials, rentals, and equipment.
• Coordinate formal bid reviews by preparing drafts, participating in review meetings, and finalizing proposals for submission.
• Perform on-site job walks to evaluate job feasibility and verify technical requirements when needed.
• Contribute to continuous improvement by refining pricing tools, maintaining accurate CRM data, and helping build scalable estimating processes.
• Support project transitions by participating in handoffs to operations and ensuring clear documentation of scope and pricing assumptions.
• Maintain compliance with export control regulations and internal quality standards during all phases of proposal development.

Technical Estimator

• Cost Estimation – Develop detailed cost estimates for solar PV and BESS projects; maintain cost databases and estimating tools to support accuracy and consistency
• Technical Analysis – Analyze project drawings, specifications, and proposals; interpret engineering documents to identify scope and cost drivers
• BESS Optimization – Support BESS optimization work including augmentation strategy development and lifecycle cost analysis
• Bid & Procurement Management – Manage and conduct EPC bid processes using Procore; solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing; assist in bid preparation and RFP responses
• Value Engineering – Identify value engineering opportunities and track market pricing trends to inform competitive positioning
• Cross-Team Collaboration – Partner with engineering, development, and procurement teams to support project development and execution

Solar and Energy Storage Estimator

• Developing Class 3 and Class 4 capital cost estimates for manufacturing, warehouse, and facility expansion projects
• Producing detailed quantity take-offs and cost breakdowns across multiple engineering disciplines
• Building, refining, and owning estimating methodologies and tools for the organization
• Reviewing engineering drawings, specs, scope of work documents, bid packages, and vendor/contractor quotes for accuracy and completeness
• Collaborating directly with business stakeholders, the design team, and project engineers to scope and estimate capital projects
• Presenting estimates to internal stakeholders and leadership with clarity and confidence
• Traveling to manufacturing and distribution sites (~30%) for project-specific site visits

Capital Projects Estimator

• Developing and modifying multiple comprehensive cost estimates and bid packages for a variety of stormwater-related construction projects.
• Manage and develop a group of estimators working on stormwater-related construction bid packages.
• Review deficiencies identified by Apex personnel to generate proposal opportunities.
• Meet client deadlines for proposal development and submission.
• Working closely with a growth team on new client work development.
• Contacting regulatory authorities to discuss aspects of violations.
• Developing material pricing databases for bidding purposes.
• Create bid takeoff to determine quantities for bidding.
• Occasional travel (5 -10%) to review projects or continuing education opportunities.
• Actively participate in a culture of safe work practices.

Stormwater Estimator

• - Develops, analyzes, evaluates, coordinates, prepares, and supports cost proposals to government and commercial customers
• - Ensure department compliance and provide interpretation of RFP requirements
• - Interact with personnel and management at all levels
• - Interface and coordinate with other business management personnel on a daily basis
• - Prepare and present pricing delegations to leadership
• - Presents cost estimates to internal teams, customers, and government audit agencies
• - Ensures adherence to Federal Acquisition Regulations, Truthful Cost or Pricing Data, and company policies and procedures regarding Price Estimating
• - Supports audit requests, fact-finding, and negotiations

Price Estimator

• Review and analyze construction plans, specifications, addenda, and related documentation to understand project scope and requirements.
• Develop detailed cost estimates for Building Management Systems, including materials, labor, subcontractor services, and equipment.
• Perform takeoffs from drawings and identify all control devices, wiring, panels, and associated components required for system installation.
• Create preliminary layout and system design concepts to ensure proposed solutions meet project and client needs.
• Collaborate with Sales Executives to support bid strategies, clarify scope, and provide technical input during the sales process.
• Prepare and deliver clear, comprehensive technical and commercial proposals outlining scope of work, assumptions, and exclusions.
• Work closely with Operations and Engineering teams to ensure estimates are accurate, achievable, and aligned with execution capabilities.
• Analyze historical data, productivity metrics, and vendor quotes to refine cost models and improve estimating accuracy.
• Evaluate and pre-qualify new opportunities to ensure alignment with business goals and profitability targets.
• Attend pre-bid meetings, site walks, and technical reviews as needed to gather relevant information for accurate estimating.
• Participate in internal sales meetings and training seminars to stay current on product offerings, pricing, and market trends.
• Maintain up-to-date records of all bids and estimates within the company’s CRM system, tracking progress and forecasting opportunities.
