About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support the Estimating Team with data entry, quote formatting, and quote document preparation
  • Evaluate customer requests for quotation and identify incomplete information or risks
  • Escalate non-standard requests or information to Estimator II or Estimator III mentors
  • Self-schedule workload based on requested due dates and available capacity, depending on brand and region
  • Create formal quotes/bids and related documents for standard quotes with moderate supervision
  • Maintain and revise quote cost data and records as conditions, methods, and other factors change
  • Learn and apply knowledge of aluminum extrusions, hardware, glass types, and standard system depths
  • Use internal pricing tools, methods, and processes
  • Obtain quotes from outside suppliers for standard buyout materials
  • Use structural engineering tools to assess product requirements and learn structural, thermal, and associated product limitations
  • Manage multiple quotes simultaneously with accuracy
  • Read and interpret project specifications and architectural documents as required for brand pricing processes

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 2-year technical degree or related experience preferred
  • 1–2 years of estimating or closely related manufacturing or construction experience
  • High level of professionalism
  • Self-motivated and able to multi-task proficiently
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Data analysis skills
  • Sound mathematical and numeracy skills
  • Critical thinking using logic and reasoning to evaluate alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches
  • Must be able to lift and/or move 10 lbs.
  • Proper PPE must be worn when visiting the manufacturing floor
