About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Work alongside seasoned Estimators and Project Managers to learn how damage assessment projects are measured, documented, and presented
  • Visit project sites to gather data
  • Collaborate with team members in the local office to prepare cost estimates
  • Assist with site visits to collect measurements, photos, and project details
  • Support analysis of labor, materials, and timelines for project estimates
  • Track costs and flag differences between projected and actual figures
  • Learn to prepare professional reports and data entries in estimating tools

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in an AEC field such as civil engineering or construction management
  • Strong career interest in construction consulting, estimating, and project management
  • Comfortable working full time in both office and field environments
  • Willingness to travel locally
  • Willingness to work within or atop damaged buildings, including roofs
  • Ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, stand, walk, push, pull, lift, finger, grasp, or feel
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, including a ladder
  • Ability to climb ladders upwards of 30 feet
  • Close visual acuity, with or without correction, for preparing reports and conducting inspections
  • Ability to use a computer terminal and keyboard, read printed documents, make detailed visual inspections, perceive color and depth, and maintain sufficient field of vision
