About the role
- Actively participate in brainstorms
- Assist in research, development and writing of program plans
- Assist with new business proposals and attend new business pitches and meetings as necessary
- Build strong relationships with client and vendor contacts and proactively manage correspondence
- Coach AAEs and interns and demonstrate ability to supervise and delegate tasks as necessary
- Communicate with your account team to keep them abreast of timelines and deadlines
- Compile coverage reports for clients (manage coverage trackers for your teams)
- Craft thoughtful pitches and build/maintain media lists for accounts (use Cision and/or MuckRack preferred)
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously meeting deadlines and budgets
- Develop and manage media relations programs spanning consumer, trade, business and vertical press including technology, lifestyle, food/beverage
- Plan and implement press conferences, seminars, speakers’ bureau, and other special events
- Practice effective project management while working with other team members and showing an understanding of the “big picture” of client programs
- Research, interview, write and edit media materials such as: news releases, fact sheets, pitches, message maps and other media materials
- Understand general principles of business and marketing and the role of PR in communications
- Understand key client information including general business strategy, industry issues, products and services offered, key customers and competitors in the marketplace
- Partner with different marketing disciplines, including strategy and creative
- Build strong relationships with reporters in the consumer/lifestyle/tech vertical
- Open to working across multiple categories, with an interest in Consumer Technology
Requirements
- 1-3 years of experience in consumer or brand PR
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and successfully meet deadlines
- Bachelor’s degree
- Digitally savvy, personally and professionally
- Driven and detail oriented
- Exceptional writing skills
- Thrive in a close team and fast-paced environment and adjust quickly as business factors shift
- Media-savvy, resourceful, and tenacious
- Experience with managing coverage trackers preferred
- Experience with Cision and/or MuckRack preferred
- Comfortable coaching AAEs and interns and supervising/delegating tasks as necessary
- Interest in Consumer Technology and willingness to work across multiple categories
