About the role
- Develop and lead internal and external strategic communications strategies, campaigns and processes across employee, consumer and restaurant industry audiences
- Drive Pizza Hut brand engagement, strategy awareness, employee engagement and organizational effectiveness
- Partner with the Director of Communications to plan and execute internal communications projects to support the brand and leadership agenda
- Draft newsletters, internal announcements, change communications and meeting recaps; support day-to-day messaging needs
- Manage the full lifecycle of internal communication campaigns from concept through execution, including planning, content development and distribution via internal platforms
- Identify, hire and manage outside vendors to collaborate on projects as needed
- Partner with key communications contacts to build communications and engagement capability across global markets
- Plan and execute quarterly Town Hall meetings (hybrid and in-person), including content development and event management
- Partner with the Director of Communications to shape and tell Pizza Hut’s global business story externally
- Support development of Pizza Hut’s global communications strategy leveraging PR, social media, executive visibility, corporate communications and owned channel content
- Draft and edit external communications including key messages, press releases, LinkedIn posts and brand editorial
- Serve as central point of contact for global communicators during global brand activations to ensure consistent messaging
- Help manage global issues and crises, partnering with global market contacts and Yum!’s Issues Management & Crisis Response team
- Maintain Pizza Hut’s Global Crisis Core Team lists and support crisis preparedness training and simulations as needed
Requirements
- 5-7 years of business experience including leading projects and/or teams
- Experience working in communications, public relations or journalism
- Exceptional writing and copy-editing skills, including the flexibility to adopt different voices and tailor messaging to different stakeholders
- Proficient in AP Style
- Ability to write in various tones, including business, organizational change, employee engagement and functional topics
- Experience with storytelling through varying channels; excellent presentation skills
- Demonstrated experience developing and executing communications strategy and processes
- Exceptional capacity for organization, project planning, working to meet specific timelines and deliverables and regularly communicate progress against goals
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with ability to interface with stakeholders in a way that builds confidence and demonstrates accountability
- Expert problem-solver adept at finding better ways to develop and manage processes
- Self-motivated and able to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced, fluid environment with multiple projects, tight deadlines and changing priorities
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, negotiation, influencing, time management and planning skills
- An entrepreneurial spirit and highly collaborative attitude
- Great attention to detail
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in business, communications or related field
