Onboarding: ensure new frontline employees have tools, instruction, and feedback for successful daily duties and meet with new frontline employees daily
Developing: provide timely and consistent touchpoints, review best practices to enhance daily performance, focus on frontline employee career goals
Coaching: identify and address improvement opportunities and collaborate with frontline employees for success; practice and seek feedback on coaching conversations
Mentoring: lead by example to ensure safety practices, teach and develop understanding of the WM Way
Performance Management: conduct Root Cause Investigations for all injuries and incidents, ensure consistent discipline and retraining
Document and maintain records required by regulatory agencies such as the Department of Transportation
Review and audit documentation related to route operations daily (e.g., DVIRs, driver time and attendance, open tickets) and follow up as appropriate
Visit customers and customer sites to evaluate and resolve safety issues and seek service alternatives where appropriate
Spend majority of day in the field with frontline employees; this role starts work at 4am
Requirements
Associate's degree or in lieu of a degree
High School Diploma (accredited) and two (2) years of relevant work experience
Successful completion of the WM Route Manager Trainee program
Must be at least 18 years of age
legally eligible to work in the country where the position is located
Valid Driver's License
Ability to work a role that starts work at 4am and spend majority of the day in the field
Ability to operate in a mix between an office environment and plant/field environment and use standard office equipment
