About the role

  • Lead and mentor Commercial Lines team members to support their professional development.
  • Address employee inquiries and needs, providing effective problem-solving within the department.
  • Promote a positive work environment by fostering high morale, encouraging teamwork, and recognizing individual achievements.
  • Oversee and coordinate workflows and task assignments for the team and external support partners.
  • Develop and implement consistent, efficient, and effective workflows, procedures, and policies, ensuring their proper utilization within the department.
  • Collaborate with other departments to optimize workflow processes, system usage, and data accuracy.
  • Collaborate on Sales and Service initiatives to ensure a great client experience model.
  • Manage team coverage and support, including the approval of time-off requests.
  • Support the adoption of workplace technology and innovations aimed at improving workflow and efficiency.
  • Serve as Account Manager for a designated portfolio of clients.
  • Monitor team growth and retention metrics, coordinating with Finance, HR, and Leadership for reporting purposes.
  • Participate in annual budget planning and discussions.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with vendors and carriers, addressing and resolving issues as needed.
  • Lead department and project meetings to share updates, gather input, and provide training on procedures and developments.
  • Conduct timely performance evaluations and hold quarterly performance discussions with team members.
  • Support the recruitment process by participating in hiring efforts and overseeing onboarding for new employees.
  • Reports to VP Operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelors’ degree preferred
  • 5 years of commercial lines insurance experience preferred
  • Property/Casualty Insurance License required
  • Leadership or Supervisory experience preferred
  • CIC designation preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in an office environment for 40+ hours per week (including sitting, standing and working on a computer for extended periods of time)
  • Ability to communicate effectively in a collaborative work environment utilizing various technologies such as: telephone, computer, web, voice, teleconferencing, mail, etc.
  • Ability to read standard typed documents
  • Ability to travel
