About the role
- Own full-cycle recruiting for technical roles in AI, machine learning, firmware, and software engineering
- Partner directly with the VP of AI, VP of Software, and hiring managers to define talent needs, craft job descriptions, and calibrate profiles
- Proactively source top-tier candidates through outbound outreach, networking, and events
- Deliver an exceptional candidate experience from first contact through onboarding
- Lead and optimize interview processes and scorecards for consistency and effectiveness
- Champion 1X’s employer brand in the AI and robotics communities through events and online presence
- Collaborate cross-functionally with People Operations and HR to enhance recruiting tools and systems
- Provide mentorship and leadership to other recruiters on the team
- Drive recruiting strategy, prioritization, and process improvements across the Talent function
Requirements
- Extensive experience in full-cycle technical recruiting, ideally within high-growth tech or robotics companies
- Deep expertise and proven track record in recruiting for AI/ML roles
- Demonstrated success hiring for software engineering roles in competitive markets
- Strong understanding of technical concepts across AI, embedded systems, firmware, and software
- High agency and low ego; ability to operate autonomously and deliver results
- Creative mindset with a track record of rethinking and improving talent processes
- Experience recruiting for robotics, embedded hardware, or edge AI teams is a plus
- Technical background or education (e.g., CS degree, bootcamp, or project work) preferred
- Experience with employer branding or talent marketing in deep tech spaces is a bonus
- Leadership experience in a recruiting function, including mentoring team members and driving strategic initiatives
