About the role
- Support hardware development for September–December 2025 as a prototyping intern
- 3D-print and assemble prototypes and create models in multiple materials
- Conduct durability testing and resolve fit-and-function issues
- Collaborate with engineering and design teams to integrate new parts
- Contribute to design and engineering of the next robot revision (production-critical work)
- Create and edit CAD models for printing or milling
- Document print settings, results, and workflows and maintain print lab organization and inventory
- Work on shared tasks with electrical engineering interns as needed
Requirements
- Hands-on experience in mechanical engineering
- Basic CAD skills (SolidWorks, Onshape, etc.)
- Comfortable doing physical work, setup, assembly, post-processing
- Able to work on-site in Palo Alto
- Currently studying engineering or a related field
- Nice to have: experience with robotics, mechatronics, or general hardware projects
- Ability to learn quickly and solve problems with limited guidance
