About the role

  • Work intimately with customers to recommend products and solutions for new and existing applications
  • Identify new applications, requirement modifications and enhancements to meet customer specifications
  • Conduct on-site installation and service of product and responsible for all technical aspects of the sales cycle
  • Serve as a technical resource for customers’ engineers and program/platform managers providing technical expertise, design work, product application information, and support
  • Act as interface between TE’s sales and engineering organizations and customers
  • Support product & process qualifications and be initial point of contact for customer’s local engineering group
  • Contribute to new product development opportunities and provide conceptual design modeling
  • Interact with key customers daily and coordinate deliverables related to customer projects
  • Establish relationships with key customer engineering contacts and decision makers and understand customer’s roadmap
  • Use VOC tools to understand accounts’ technology and communicate needs to internal TE teams
  • Support cross-functional global teams specific to the customer and penetrate customers’ design cycle to be involved in early stages
  • Support existing applications and products, including tolerance analysis, application evaluation, and testing

Requirements

  • BS degree in Engineering required (Mechanical / Systems discipline preferred)
  • At least 4 – 8 years of engineering experience in connector knowledge
  • Knowledge of general manufacturing processes of stamping, molding, plating, and automated product assembly is desired
  • Experience in development engineering and participation in the full product development cycle
  • Prefer candidates with some knowledge of electronics components, preferably in one or more of our product lines (connectors, electronics relays, wire & cable)
  • Demonstrated ability to provide effective project leadership
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize
  • Strong interpersonal & negotiating skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Computer proficiency, including 3D Design Applications
  • Ability and willingness to travel as required, mainly regionally
  • Experience reading/interpreting production-level drawings
  • Ability to perform basic tolerance analysis
