About the role
- Report to VP in charge of Freight Components Product Line and focus on project management, quality and operations
- Manage and train the Project team network of the Product Line
- Lead and prepare Customer Quality Visits, Audits and meetings (FAI, Project audit, etc.) with involved PQE’s and Site Quality Manager
- Lead Product Quality continuous improvement through regular audit, Critical Characteristic Management Process
- Lead New Product Development Quality Gate
- Ensure Customer issues are managed according to Wabtec rules (5W2H, QRQC, 8D or PDCA_FTA, LLC) with appropriate reactivity and communication
- Lead Product Line QRQC with sites involved
- Set targets and achieve Product Line performance targets for Quality
- Establish the quality budget for the Product Line
- Lead technology transfer / Make or Buy activities from idea to business case through successful FAI
- Coordinate with site and regional quality teams to drive supplier resourcing and overall quality improvement
- Drive cross-functional project planning and execution, align quality objectives and delivery timelines
- Monitor project milestones and proactively manage risks and resources
- Act as interface between engineering, operations, and quality teams to resolve issues and maintain project momentum
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or business
- Master's degree preferred
- 10+ years of proven experience in quality, operations and project management in railway business ideally in Freight
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and good judgment for complex business decisions and strategic planning
- Excellent ability to work effectively in a cross-functional and international team environment
- Ability to get-things-done and challenge the status-quo
- Entrepreneurial spirit
- Strong strategic thinking and influencing skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to travel as required
- Fluent English mandatory, other European languages appreciated
