About the role
- Assist in monitoring and coordinating implementation of small, medium or large-scale systems using project management principles and tools
- Lead and perform requirements analysis, validation and verification; ensure requirement documents are complete, consistent, concise, comprehensible and unambiguous
- Elicit business/system requirements using interviews, surveys, requirements workshops, task and workflow analysis
- Communicate with business and technical stakeholders to define and document business/system requirements
- Suggest improvements/solutions that enhance existing business processes
- Facilitate business planning and prioritization of requirements based on business value
- Develop test plans/matrices/criteria and perform quality assurance/acceptance testing of system deliverables
- Develop training materials and conduct training on new system implementations, enhancements or modifications
- Augment and support Help Desk operations for problem identification, triage and resolution of business systems issues
- Develop Requests for Information/Proposal documentation and analyze vendor responses
- Perform data analysis as necessary
- Lead internal/external teams as necessary
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 to 5 years work experience in a business analyst role, leading and/or supporting insurance system implementations / operations
- Experience with workers compensation claims handling / processing
- Prior experience in insurance operations, especially with claims
- Knowledge of insurance industry with understanding of Claims, Underwriting and Financial operations in Commercial P&C, Professional Liability, and Workers Compensation lines
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- Ability to work independently
- Great attention to detail
- Comfortable working with business and technical subject matter experts
- Excellent project, organizational and time management skills with ability to handle multiple tasks while meeting deadlines
- Bachelor's Degree in business and/or technical field preferred (equivalent experience considered)
- Applicable professional certifications considered (CPCU, PMI-PBA, IIBA…)
- Capable of performing data analysis using a variety of tools
- Ability to support Eastern Standard Time hours
