About the role
- Manage and mentor a team focused on developing world-class developer productivity tools and infrastructure
- Define and implement strategies for frontend infrastructure, developer tooling, and release processes while upholding high-security standards
- Drive adoption and integration of tools, services, and APIs built by the team across the codebase
- Stay abreast of emerging web and frontend technologies and assess applicability
- Work closely with stakeholders to understand developer and client needs and implement secure, efficient solutions
- Design and refine processes that enhance team operations and continuously improve developer productivity as the organization scales
- Champion best practices for web clients and frontend stacks
- Set strategy, lead team delivery, grow engineers, and cultivate a results-driven culture to enable company scaling
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience managing technical teams of six or more engineers
- Proven track record in building and improving frontend infrastructure and tooling for developers
- Deep knowledge of modern development practices, developer tooling, and current web best practices and industry standards
- Strong leadership abilities with experience in hiring, mentoring, and growing senior engineers
- Excellent communication skills to build consensus with stakeholders and articulate the value of frontend infra and developer tools
- Experience planning, scoping, and executing on cross-org migrations with emphasis on limiting migration cost to consumers
- Experience leading a frontend or web-specific platform team (preferred)
- Experience leading senior and staff level engineers (preferred)
