About the role
- Principal Product Manager for Servicing designing tools and systems for recovering funds when borrowers are unable to repay across all Upstart loan products
- Define strategy for Auto loan collections and recoveries in partnership with Operations leadership
- Partner with Operations to establish technology and processes for collections and recoveries when borrowers become delinquent
- Deeply understand delinquent borrowers and collaborate with design to deliver borrower-centered products
- Establish and track success metrics to assess impact of product and operations initiatives
- Leverage data-driven insights to make informed product decisions and optimize metrics
- Make trade-offs to prioritize features with highest ROI and experiment when necessary
- Develop vendor partnerships aligning with overall business strategy
Requirements
- 6+ years experience in a product management role building both consumer-facing products and internal operational tools
- Demonstrated success in driving business outcomes through a balance of quantitative metrics and qualitative understanding
- Strong product sense; independently authored and executed on a multi-quarter roadmap
- Rigorous and analytical problem solving; well structured, concise, and highly effective communication
- Ownership and growth mindset; acts like an owner and open to feedback
- Preferred: Experience building products in fintech, credit servicing, or customer support environments
- Preferred: Familiarity with voice, chat, or AI-driven multi-modal UX
- Preferred: Aptitude for and interest in credit and personal finance economic concepts
- Preferred: Experience building products with third-party vendor integrations
- Preferred: Demonstrated and expressed mission orientation, and outsized results
