About the role
- Be the face of U-Haul’s customer service, assisting customers with products and services
- Inspect, clean, maintain, move and hook up U-Haul trucks and trailers; check fluid levels
- Use smartphone-based U-Scan technology to manage rentals and inventory
- Prepare rental invoices and accept returned equipment
- Install hitches and trailer wiring
- Fill propane (certification offered through U-Haul upon employment)
- Drive a forklift (certification offered through U-Haul upon employment)
- Participate in ongoing training through U-Haul University and other on-the-job education
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license and ability to maintain a good driving record
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to use protective clothing or gear (masks, goggles, gloves, or shields) when required
- Physical ability to perform moderate exertion, including remaining stationary for long periods, moving around indoors and outdoors, reaching objects at varying heights, and moving equipment weighing a minimum of 50 lbs (assisted or unassisted)
- Must be willing/able to work in an environment with moving parts, fumes, or irritant chemicals
- U-Haul nicotine-use hiring policy: may decline to hire nicotine users in specified states
