About the role
- Attend in-person interpreting assignments with clients (community and medical settings)
- Provide consecutive interpretation and other language services onsite
- Support Limited English Proficient (LEP) populations in the NYC area
- Potentially provide OPI/VRI, translation, or transcription if needed
- Coordinate availability and scheduling as a local vendor for Accent on Languages
- Represent Accent on Languages' standards in quality, accuracy, and professionalism
Requirements
- Experience in Consecutive Interpreting
- Degree in interpreting or translation (Preferred)
- Any Interpreting or Translation Certifications a plus
- Ability to attend in-person interpreting assignments in community and medical settings
- Vendors must be local to the NYC, NY area
- Fluency in one or more of: Spanish, Portuguese, Ukrainian, Burmese, Wolof, Fulani/Pulaar, Haitian Creole, Punjabi, Greek, Hindi, Hebrew, Mandarin, Vietnamese, Cantonese, Korean
- Availability for onsite assignments
- Experience in transcription, translation, or interpreting (application form asks)
