Residential Coordinator provides 24-hour awake coverage and supervision of the domestic violence shelter; lead person on shift acting as first point of contact for client needs and support; crisis intervention; facilities management; ensuring safe and efficient operation of front desk and positive living environment; ensure safety of shelter residents and property; monitor calls and inquiries maintaining confidentiality; answer crisis calls from Fairfax County Domestic Violence Hotline and complete safety plans and needs assessments; update daily log by documenting interactions and significant events; work closely with case managers to support service plans and maintain communication regarding client progress; accompany clients to court and appointments; complete shift exchange with incoming/outgoing staff; ensure documentation compliance; evaluate and provide for basic needs of shelter clients; maintain dignity and confidentiality; administer emergency procedures; conduct assessments and intakes for clients in imminent danger; assist with medication delivery and security; participate in staff meetings and trainings; ensure compliance with agency policies; serve as emergency personnel and report to work regardless of circumstances; exemplify core values; other duties as assigned
Requirements
A high school diploma or GED
2+ years of experience in human services
Ability to build strong working relationships with clients and team members
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Willingness to work evenings and weekends when needed
Preferred: A bachelor’s in human services/ related field
Preferred: Experience working in programs serving victims of domestic violence
Preferred: Experience working in a residential environment
Preferred: Current CPR/ First aid certification
Physical Requirements: Annual TB Test required
Physical Requirements: Ability to sit or stand for long periods
