About the role
- Actively promote the U-Haul brand and educate independent business partners and leaders on benefits of becoming a U-Haul dealer
- Work with small businesses within a designated route to prospect, open and grow the U-Haul dealership organization
- Develop and manage business relationships with small business owners and U-Haul dealerships and train dealers on areas for potential growth
- Manage route profit and loss through analysis to grow transactions by providing products and services
- Service and maintain current U-Haul equipment and displays to ensure operational excellence and marketability
- Work with support staff to ensure success of U-Haul dealerships within route
- Operate and maintain a properly stocked U-Haul service vehicle to distribute equipment throughout route
- Perform minor repair and maintenance on U-Haul equipment and arrange for recovery of lost/stolen/abandoned equipment
- Participate in ongoing continuous U-Haul education through U-Haul University
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license and the ability to maintain a good driving record to operate commercial motor vehicles
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be able to obtain a D.O.T. health certificate from a federally registered medical examiner
- Ability to perform minor repair and maintenance on U-Haul equipment
- Ability to operate a properly stocked and maintained U-Haul service vehicle
- Ability to arrange recovery of lost, stolen or abandoned U-Haul equipment
- Ability to move a minimum of 50 lbs. assisted or unassisted
- Ability to work both indoors and outdoors for long periods and traverse spaces
- May be required to use protective clothing or gear such as masks, goggles, gloves or shields
- Self-starter and able to manage, plan and execute day-to-day workload
- Note: U-Haul will not hire or re-hire individuals who use nicotine products in specified states
