Manage one of U-Haul moving and storage centers, keeping the center profitable and efficient
Hire, mentor, and hire effective staff; schedule and conduct two hands-on working interviews
Manage the fleet to deliver clean and well-maintained equipment
Keep track of inventory and track and itemize inventory
Perform profit/loss analyses and manage the personnel budget
Manage equipment and solve problems as they arise
Ensure that customers receive the highest quality of care
Keep track of fuel receipts and petty cash
Clean and monitor the premises, and maintain a secure environment
Participate in ongoing continuous U-Haul education through U-Haul University
Maintain compliance with safety precautions and use protective gear as required
Requirements
1-3 years of management experience in retail or another service industry with responsibility for financial results and customer satisfaction
Computer expertise
Organizational expertise
Management proficiency in high-volume retail with profit and loss (P&L) accountability
Valid driver’s license and the ability to maintain a good driving record
High school diploma or equivalent
Able to work weekends and holidays
Ability to move a minimum of 50 lbs assisted or unassisted (physical demands)
Ability to work around moving parts, machines, fumes or irritating chemicals and use protective clothing or gear as required (work environment)
