💰 $20 - $24 per hour
About the role
- Work alongside Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, and Structural professionals on multi-discipline public and private projects
- Support civil design including roadway, utility infrastructure and stormwater management systems
- Apply classroom knowledge to real municipal infrastructure design projects
- Participate in development of construction plans and specifications (as applicable)
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members and attend mentorship, training, and learning seminars
- Primarily work from office or assigned project site, with occasional flexible/hybrid arrangements
- Work approximately 40 hours per week with occasional overtime during the summer internship period
- May be required to operate a motorized vehicle for project/business needs
Requirements
- Undergraduate pursuing a Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering with interest in transportation
- Previous experience or formal training with AutoCad and/or Microstation
- Strong interpersonal skills; Ability to work in a team environment
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Must be at least 21 years of age by May 30, 2026
- Valid Driver's license and clean driving record
- Available to work 40 hours per week with occasional overtime from mid-May through mid-August 2026
- Ability to operate a motorized vehicle for business on behalf of TKDA (may be required)
- Preferred: coursework or project assignments related to transportation, municipal or highway design
- Preferred: Thorough understanding of drafting techniques, plan development, and related engineering practices
- Preferred: Previous experience developing construction plans and specifications
- Preferred: Experience working directly with people (customer service, sports reffing, volunteering / community engagement)
