About the role
- Direct employee relations and leave and accommodation teams.
- Ensure an engaged employee relations function aligned with enterprise vision, values, and people strategy.
- Oversee employee leave programs and ensure compliance with relevant state, federal, and company leave laws and regulations.
- Manage HR Leave and Accommodation team responsible for in-house protected leaves, paid and unpaid leaves, and workplace accommodations.
- Support ADA education and compliance.
- Lead regular process improvement efforts to enhance customer experience and efficient workflow.
- Manage Employee Relations Consultant team advising managers at all levels and oversee research and investigations of complaints, charges, and lawsuits.
- Oversee staff conducting on-site internal investigations and produce comprehensive confidential investigation reports with recommended findings for senior management review.
- Consult with internal and external counsel to mitigate risk and ensure compliance with EEO policies and employment regulations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, or equivalent work experience in a related field and industry.
- 8+ years of progressive HR experience, including 5+ years leading teams.
- Deep expertise in employee and labor relations and 50-state leave laws and administration.
- Strong knowledge of complex employee relations matters, federal and state leave laws, and the ADA.
- Experience leading complex workplace investigations including responses to EEOC charges and employment claims.
- Experience consulting with internal and external counsel on investigations and risk mitigation.
- Solid assertiveness, leadership courage, influence, planning, organization, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to develop strong trusting relationships and credibility with business and HR colleagues.
- Process improvement mindset with ability to analyze and synthesize data trends and develop appropriate responses.
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees.
- Master’s degree in HR, Business or related field (preferred).
- Association of Workplace Investigators (AWI) Certificate Holder (preferred).
- Must be bondable and pass criminal background investigation and employment, education and licensing verification.
