About the role
- Assist in the development, implementation and administration of competitive global compensation programs, practices and policies that support organizational strategic objectives and align with Cengage Group’s Total Reward Philosophy.\n
- Partner with HR Technology team in the design and implementation of technology solutions that support compensation processes.\n
- Lead the review, implementation, testing and maintenance of systems.\n
- Create and maintain compensation project plans to ensure operational efficiency and effective end-to-end global roll-out and communications.\n
- Develop, maintain, and deliver effective communications and training to HR, leaders, and employees to build awareness and understanding of programs.\n
- Maintain program information on internal communication portals.\n
- Assist in creating analysis, presentations and recommendations for the Executive Team, HR Leadership Team, Board Compensation Committee, Total Rewards Committee, and others.\n
- Perform advanced analytics to identify trends, pain points, root causes and offer recommendations to address.\n
- Manage compensation data organization, maintenance, and use, including salary survey research, analysis, and submission.\n
- Produce compensation reports to support program administration, analysis and ongoing data audits.\n
- Evaluate and analyze employee compensation and market data, determine FLSA status, compensation level, and short or long-term compensation eligibility.\n
- Assist with annual review and ongoing maintenance of job and salary structures including the creation of job families, job codes and job titles.\n
- Maintain job matching database, partner with survey tool vendor and leverage Workday reporting to run and upload data.\n
- Partner with HR outsource provider (Cognizant), to ensure an understanding of compensation programs and structures, supporting their ability to answer employee questions in a timely and accurate manner.\n
- In partnership with Legal, monitor the legislative landscape and ensure compliance with all compensation related activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting, human resources, or a related field.\n
- 5+ years of compensation experience; global experience required.\n
- Demonstrated broad understanding of compensation including base, short-term and long-term incentives.\n
- Collaborative team player who builds partnerships with internal and external contacts at all organizational levels in a matrixed environment.\n
- Strong organization and project management skills; able to prioritize work in a fast-paced environment.\n
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; strong presentation skills.\n
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.\n
- Strong analytical skills and conceptual thinking skills.\n
- Digitally savvy and comfortable with technology tools.\n
- Highly resourceful, self-motivated problem solver.\n
- An adaptive individual who is comfortable with ambiguity.\n
- Preferred: Sales incentive plan design experience.\n
- Experience in equity plan design and administration in private and/or public company.\n
- Knowledge of Workday HCM Advanced Compensation module and PayFactors platform desirable.
